AI Can Analyse Addiction. It Can’t Possibly Know What It Feels Like

There is a lot that artificial intelligence can do 🤖
It can analyse millions of quit attempts. It can map the neuroscience of nicotine dependency. It can generate personalised advice and serve up motivational messages at exactly the right moment.
What it cannot do is remember 💭
It cannot remember waking up and reaching for a cigarette before your feet hit the floor. It cannot remember the panic feeling of being down to your last cigarette.
The dread of a long flight, a wedding, a holiday, wondering how you were going to get through it. It cannot remember telling yourself, for the tenth year running, that this was the year you were finally going to stop.
I can 🙋♀️
I smoked for 20 years. I tried everything: willpower, patches, gum, hypnotherapy, sheer determination. None of it worked. I wasn’t weak or lacking information. I was trapped in a cycle nobody had ever properly explained to me.
In 2003, I walked into an Allen Carr’s Easyway seminar. I walked out a non-smoker. Not a smoker using willpower to resist. A non-smoker. The difference is everything 🙌
In 2020, I quit alcohol the same way.
Every single Allen Carr’s Easyway facilitator has a version of this story. Every one of us used to have the same problem we now help others to solve. Not a similar one. The same one ❤️
When you sit down in one of our seminars, you are not sitting across from a clinician who has read the literature or passed the exam. You are sitting across from someone who has felt exactly what you feel right now, and who found an easy way out 🤝
AI will get better at many things. It will never have been there.
And in this work, that is everything 💡
If you are ready to stop, we are ready to help.
